Information about iMed Conference 14.0 Lisbon iPitch Competition

The iMed Conference’s iPitch Competition | Public Speaking Competition is a competition for undergraduate and master Life Sciences’ students designed to offer the participants the opportunity to have a unique clinical or research learning experience in a renowned European Centre with well known physicians and scientists. 

 

The clinical internship host is Professor Andrew Hart, a Consultant Hand, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon at the renowned Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit in Glasgow and in the Scottish National Brachial Plexus Service. His subspecialty remit includes hand/peripheral nerve surgery and reconstructive microsurgery. His private practice includes skin surgery, facial, breast, and abdominal cosmetic surgery.

 

The research internship host is Professor Bradley Nelson, a Professor of Robotics and Intelligent Systems at ETH Zürich, where his research focuses on microrobotics and nanorobotics, with an emphasis on their applications in Biomedicine. Professor Nelson was named in 2005 to the “Scientific American 50" and his lab is in the 2012 Guinness Book of World Records for the “Most Advanced Mini Robot for Medical Use".

 

The final pitches will be presented during the iMed Conference®, which will take place in Lisbon, on the 16th of October, 2022.
